Top Upcoming Game Events of 2017

Happy March 16th, Nerds!

I had a few thoughts that I could not shake out of my head all last night. These thoughts included what I could make for dinner, how to torment my Cat once I got home, whether or not the American Gods TV show will be any good, and what Games/Gaming events am I most excited about in 2017. I figured I would share that last thought with you. Much of what I am going to mention is confirmed for this year. But some of the titles I bring up do not have a release date and it's just blind hope that they release this year. So, your first true look into the games I am excited for and perhaps they type of future content you can expect. Without further stalling, in no particular order...

Diablo 3 Season 10:
If you have read any of my other posts at this point you should know that I mean Season 10 for PS4. A while back Blizzard mentioned that Seasons on consoles would begin with Season 10. As of yesterday we now have the start date of Season 10, that date being March 31st. This doesn't necessarily mean that the season will launch on consoles that day as well. And considering Blizzard announced the release date for the season but failed to mention the console integration leaves a little sour taste in my mouth. However, I am confident that if we don't see Seasons on the 31st, we wont have to wait much longer.
Even after earning the platinum on PS3 and then again on PS4, I am itching for more reasons to play. I am hoping to play an unhealthy amount of D3 this year with seasons and the release of the best D2 character coming in the next few months, The Necromancer.

Uncharted: Lost Legacy
Like most people, I too loved Uncharted 4. I bought the season pass for the game the day it came out. This was a choice that disappointed me very soon after the games release. With the initial promise of access to multiplayer content and a single player story pack, my interest was peaked with all the announced content.
Soon after they announced that all multiplayer content would come free to all players and anyone who purchased the season pass would receive 3000 Points to use towards in game random rewards. Which I was a slightly bummed about. Not the free content, that part is great. The part that pissed me off was that I now had points to spend on completely random rewards, rather than being able to choose what I wanted. The online experience was still decent however, so I continued to contribute many an hour to the online portion and continue to do so from time to time.
The real news came with Uncharted: Lost Legacy. An Uncharted tale that finally does away with Nathan Drake (though, I am sure he will have a small presence), and lets us control Chloe and adventure along side Nadine, a character I feel we still have much to learn about. This story comes free to those who have the season pass for Uncharted 4. However, if you have not purchased this yet, you will have to buy the Story pack separately once it comes out.
Things are still a little vague about the nature of this "DLC". It was reported that Lost Legacy will have its own Competitive Multiplayer. Which begs the question, how big is this game going to be? If it is big enough to take on a new multiplayer, is it going to introduce mechanics that A Thief's End doesn't have? Seems we just have to wait on the word from Naughty Dog.

Mass Effect: Andromeda
Yes, I have mentioned this in all of my posts so far. So I thinks it really goes without saying that I am extremely excited for this title. Here is the funny thing about that, though. I was not the biggest fan of the original Mass Effect trilogy. And not in the traditional way like vocal mob of people who hated the ending of the trilogy, I personally didn't have any issue with how it ended. This may be due to the fact that I never truly cared about most of the characters the game. I loved the gameplay, and I really loved the Multiplayer in ME3. Part of the reason I may not of felt so connected could be blamed on the fact that I didn't jump on the Shepard train until the second game. Which left me confused bejesus out of me, but I was on board because shooting aliens in the face is fun. Simple.
Andromeda looks to be more of the face shooting, multiplayer team ups and alien sex. So, I'm in. That and to finally be on the ground level for hopefully a new amazing trilogy of games.
Here I sit.. less that a week away before I finally live in a Post Andromeda world.

injustice 2
I should start by mentioning. I am fucking terrible at fighting games. So why should I be excited for Injustice? Probably for the same reason about fifty percent of the people buying the game are. I want to see Swamp Thing to rip Superman's arms off and beat Green Lantern with them (Pretty sure that's not a move, but if NetherRealms is reading, take notes.). I am a huge DC Comics fan and fell absolutely in love with the first game. My only complaint was the absence of easily one of the best Batman sidekick/villains: The Red Hood.
Now, he still has not been announced for Injustice 2, they still have time. I would like him to be part of the main roster and not a DLC character, but as long as he is in the game Ill be happy. My pre order is already in, the game looks amazing and I can't wait.

The Last of Us: Part Two
Yes, this is a huge stretch. Mainly because it's hard to believe that this game will actually be released in 2017. So yes, this entry makes my 2017 wish list. "Wish" being the key word.
I am, like most PS3 owners undeniably in love with The Last of Us. More than likely going to do another stream of the game very soon. Joel and Ellie have become very important characters to me and many Playstation fans out there, and simply thinking about the ending of the first game and how this is going to drastically change the dynamic between both of our protagonists going forward is extremely compelling. I don't personally buy into the Joel being dead theory. That doesn't mean that Joel wont die in the game, just that he isn't dead by the time the game starts and also, not dead in the cutscene we have been shown. I feel this would of been way too predictable considering that being the most obvious conclusion for fans to come to.
Lastly, that multiplayer though. Holy hell, that was special. Something about that multiplayer hits home. To me, it always felt like how Metal Gear Online "Should" have always played. Stealthy, trying to make the least amount of noise as possible. Stealth killing enemies. I am predicting two things, a hoard mode, and a PVP mode with Clickers included in the map to really up the tension.
Like I mentioned, i don't really think that this is coming in 2017. But I have my finger, toes and eyes crossed for a surprise.

That's it for now. I absolutely have more games and events that I am excited about this year, but I will spare your eyes for now. If you did manage to make it to the end, please let me know what yours are, or if you agree/disagree with me!

Good day, Nerds!
